Kamala Wijeratne is an educationist in the field of English and a creative writer.

She has wide experience in ELT curriculum design, teacher education, and materials design. Her poetry is well-known and she was awarded the State Literary Prize for poetry in for her anthology entitled Millennium Poems. She has published six volumes of poetry and two anthologies of short stories. She is currently a visiting lecturer in the Department of Humanities Education, of the University of Colombo.
